Are you subscribed to a group chat on Voxer and are annoyed with the constant stream of alerts you receive for each new message? We now allow you to disable and enable notifications per chat! By default, we enable notifications on each chat you create and/or are subscribed to. To disable notifications for a chat on Android version 1.0 and above, perform the following steps:

  • Within a chat, tap the "Chat menu" button (on the upper right side of the screen).
  • Tap "On."
  • Click "Yes" when you receive the notifications alert.  Notifications are now disabled for this chat.
*Note: Extreme Notifications is a Voxer Pro & Voxer Business feature that enables extremely loud, repetitive alerts every 15 seconds for 5 minutes so you never miss a vox..

For Android version and earlier, perform the following steps:

  • Navigate to the desired chat.
  • Tap on the "Chat menu" button in the top right corner.
  • Tap on the "Alerts" option.
  • A dialog will pop-up confirming that you would like to disable alerts received on the chat.
  • If you later decide you would like alerts turned back on for the chat, simply tap on the "Alerts" option again to enable them.
